Thoughts for Thursday & A Winner!

Happy weekend chicas!

Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know it's not the weekend for all of y'all, but, for me, it is and it's the start of a very exciting weekend!

Today, I am heading to Charleston for Caroline's bachelorette!  I can't wait to celebrate with her all weekend and can't believe her big day is just over a week away.  Be sure to stay tuned on Instagram to see all the fun festivities throughout the weekend!

Here we are celebrating her engagement last summer!

In other news, I thought I would link up with Annie and Natalie today for Thoughts for Thursday.

Thoughts for Thursday

I've had all sorts of random things to share with y'all lately and thought today would be the perfect day to link up.

First up, I met my good friend, Bobbie Lou, for Endless Cheese & Chocolate at the Melting Pot last night and had so much fun!  For just $20 you get all the cheese and chocolate you can eat!  It's a great deal!

This s'mores chocolate fondue was amazing!

They also feature half priced cocktails and The Yin & Yang is my fave!

Many of you liked my outfit last night on Instagram, so I have listed the details below:

In other news, I am beyond excited to see Bryce on Sunday.  He has been gone since LAST Monday, on multiple, back-to-back trips.  He's coming home today, however, our paths will not cross, because I will have already  left for the bachelorette by the time he gets home.  Two weeks is way too long to be apart, so I am beyond ready to see him Sunday!

While he's been gone I've been watching lots of girlie movies on Netflix:  The Importance of Being Earnest, Jane Eyre, and Mansfield Park.  The Importance of Being Earnest was so cute and my favorite of the three.

I recently came across this article "How not to say the wrong thing" and thought it's advice was really valuable.  The idea is that when dealing with some sort of crisis or tragic situation, you only say comforting things to those closer to the center of the issue, negative is only allowed to those further from the center.

Meredith, Bryce's cousin, recently shared her wedding photos with us, and  I can't get over how gorgeous this shot is:

See my post on this picture perfect wedding here.

And finally, I am excited to announce that the winner of my giveaway is Kristen, otherwise known as the Playground Prepster!  I hope she will love her necklace and bracelet as much as I am loving mine. Thanks to everyone who entered!

I've especially been loving my bracelet stacked with my Bourbon & Boweties bangles!

What random thoughts have been going through your head lately?

Any fun plans for the weekend?

Have a great day!

Old Luckett's Store

Hi friends!

Today I want to share a fabulous store with you...if you're in the Virginia area it is worth a trip!

Last year while visiting AMF one weekend, we ventured to Old Lucketts Store in Leesburg, Virginia.

The store is three stories and houses 35 different vendors.  It specializes in "Vintage Hip" home accessories.  They even have a Design House which features a monthly interior design showcase where everything is for sale!

The Design House is opening again next month and I am hoping to make the trip up for it!

Take a look at what I saw last year...

I ogled over all these different knobs!
I can't pick a favorite!

How cozy and sweet is this table?
I am still kicking myself for not bringing home some of those topiaries...the little ones were a mere $15!  Anna and I got caught at closing time and had to quickly choose what to purchase before they kicked us out!

Nautical Chic

I brought home one of these antlers to Bryce!

I love gold...and I love bars!  Ha!

Not from Virginia?

You're in luck- I discovered when writing this post, that they even have an online shop, here!

These are a few of my faves from the shop:

$45

$22

$198

$245

Are you a fan of "Vintage Hip" decor?

It certainly doesn't define my style, but I love adding vintage flair in rooms.  I think it's fun to mix and match design styles.

Do you have a store like this in your area?

Have a great day!

White Faux Taxidermy

Happy Friday friends!

Fun weekend plans?

Not too much going on here this weekend, but I'm happy to have some time to just relax.  I already have a feeling I'll stay in my pajamas through the afternoon curled up with my book tomorrow...

Sorry that the House Tour posts have been at a standstill.  I hope to take pics of our bedroom this weekend, but many of the other rooms still need some finishing touches before their big blog reveal.

One of those rooms is the sun room.  Bryce has given me free reign on the sun room as my ultra girlie room and one of the things I think I might want for the space is some form of faux taxidermy.  I've searched online a bit and found the best Etsy store with any and all faux taxidermy you could imagine (even dinosaurs!):  White Faux Taxidermy.

Take a look at some of their fun pieces...

If you're gonna go faux, I say...go faux!  Pink?  Gold glitter?
Yes, please!

Is it just me...or is this just totally chic and swanky?

Loving the turquoise!

This guy just makes me smile!

This is the one I think I want!

Can you tell I have a thing for gold?  I think these would be so fun in a child's playroom!

Are you a fan of the faux taxidermy trend?

Which would you choose?

On a funny side note, while we were in Easton, Maryland last weekend, I saw an actual zebra head in one of the local antique stores.  It was very cool, but slightly creepy and HUGE!  Despite seeing countless zebras at the zoo, I never realized quite how large their heads are!

How crazy is he!?

Have a great weekend!

Loving...

A much happier Friday over here today!

This week has been much better than last and we have an exciting weekend of wedding festivities ahead!  Our good friends S & C are tying the knot on a farm tomorrow and Bryce is a groomsman!  I'm excited to have an excuse to throw on my cowboy boots and dance!

Here's a look at some of the things I'm loving this week:

Those of you who follow along on IG, know that I scored this on sale last Sunday and am obsessed!  Thinking of wearing it to tonight's rehearsal dinner...

I'm loving our fall tablescape, complete with flowers Bryce brought home to me last week when I was at my lowest!

These pants take neutral to a fabulous new level!

Is it just me, or is this pillow to die for?

Wishing I had an iPhone 5 so I could get this cutie...

And finally, since I'm feeling back to my old self again, we'll end with an eCard!

This is how I'm feeling about tonight's rehearsal.  It's a hike to the venue so Bryce and I should really ride together, BUT...he has to be there at 4, and I would much rather arrive pretty!

What are you loving this week?

Have a great weekend!

Bourbon & Boweties

HELLO friends!

How are things going?

Things are going well over here, except for the fact, that I want to slow summer down!  It is going by WAY too fast for my liking!

We are currently at Nags Head for vacation!  I'm happy to be on vacay, BUT, know that means we are in the homestretch of summer.  So far, we've eaten lots of good food, gone for some runs on the beach, laid out, read, and already completed a 1000 piece puzzle!

Today I wanted to share a fabulous jewelry designer with you; although, if I'm completely honest, I don't really want to share because I kinda wanna be the only cool girl with this fabulous jewelry!

While reading Caitlin's blog recently, she mentioned a jewelry designer called Bourbon & Boweties.  Caitlin has great style and after seeing the picture below on her blog, I knew these bracelets were something I had to have!

Bourbon and Boweties was founded by Florida native, Carley Ochs.  She makes bracelets (and necklaces, too!) with a variety of stones in any color imaginable.  The bracelets are meant to be stacked, mixed, and matched!  I'll share a little more of her eye candy with you now...

This takes pink and green to a whole new level!

What a perfect pop for an outfit!  Loving the far right bracelet!

So luxe and chic!

She even orders actual coins for her bracelets!

Carley designed this stack for a bride, and it really caught my eye!

Knowing that Bryce and I had an anniversary coming up, I may have put a little bug in his ear, and...

received these for our two year anniversary!

I may have mentioned that I'd love even more in all colors and styles and explained what an easy go-to gift it would be for the future...

Here's my full outfit!

I've worn my bracelets every day since receiving them and am having fun playing with stacks!

Have you heard of Bourbon & Boweties?  Are you a fan of bangles or more of a statement necklace girl?

Have a great day!
