2019 Last Minute Prime Gift Guide

Happy Hump Day!

It's the FINAL COUNTDOWN!!!

When I polled to see interest in an Amazon Prime gift guide, y'all overwhelmingly voted yes, so here it is!

Everything in this guide is on Amazon Prime and everything except the Ember Smart Mug is under $50! Do be sure to check on your sizing and color options. I did my best to pick items that were widely available and would deliver in plenty of time for Christmas, but a few items are only available for pre-Christmas delivery in certain colors. Similar to my other guides (Ladies here and Gents here), there are more details, similar options linked, etc below the collage. Also, if in need of more inspiration, check out last year's Last Minute Prime Gift Guide, as many of those items are still available!

These are affiliate links, meaning I earn a small commission on purchases at no cost to you, which is a nice perk for the hours I spend on each guide. Thank you for shopping!

Blue Light Glasses: just over $20!; I've been dying to order these for myself, as prioritizing and getting ample sleep is my biggest "wellness" challenge; these came recommended by a follower when I talked about blue light glasses on Stories; they're cute, affordable, and have great reviews; could be great stocking stuffer
Waterproof Speaker: under $40!; if you're not following Things I Bought and Liked, you should be; she recommended this waterproof speaker and I was sold- who doesn't love to jam out and sing in the shower?
One Line A Day: under $12; y'all have expressed an interest in gifts for in-laws and I think this would make a great gift for a mom or mother-in-law; the concept is simple- it has a page for every day of the year and on each page there are spaces for that day over 5 consecutive years - great opportunity to reflect and see growth over time or trends in how you're feeling at different times of year
Bee Ornament: couldn't resist featuring this beautiful bee ornament, as I am Alexandra Bee; Old World Christmas has an array of stunning, and sometimes even funny, ornaments though sure to please everyone in your life
Holiday Earrings: under $10!; I've been dying for some festive earrings this season and these definitely fit the bill; also love this six pack of similar studs for just $10.99 that you could purchase and split up to gift to multiple friends, siblings, aunts and cousins, etc
Borsari Salt: under $10!; this salt has changed our cooking game - we originally had it on steak at a friends and immediately went to Whole Foods to buy some of our own; we now put it on everything from meat to roasted veggies and it is a game changer; another great stocking stuffer
Sugar Lip Treatment: this lip treatment is on the pricier side, but so decadent; it leaves lips feeling ultra moisturized and also has a slight tint for some color
Ember Smart Mug: I never make it through a mug of tea or hot chocolate before it gets cold, so I think this smart mug that keeps drinks heated to your exact temperature specifications is genius; at a much lower price point, this Yeti mug would also make a great gift for the coffee lover in your life and is sure to keep drinks hot for a while
Ice Roller: just over $20; another one to follow is Being Bridget and she raves about this ice roller to depuff before events; it has 4.7/5 stars based on 2,639 ratings and I'm dying to try it!
Coconut Snacks: under $20 for a 3-pack you can divvy up; everyone needs some tasty treats in their stocking; I've become hooked on these organic coconut snacks this year; they remind me so much of Samoa Girl Scout cookies, but come with a lot less guilt!
Pearl Tray: just over $40; y'all love Beatriz Ball as much as me and I love this small tray from their giftables line that would be fabulous as a trinket tray; also check out the giftable oyster also under $50
Tortoise Hair Clip: under $10; you can never have enough hair clips like these and I go gaga for anything tortoise; rated 4.9/5 stars based on nearly 50 ratings; great stocking stuffer
Wine Chilling Wands: under $30!; we received these as a wedding gift and love them; you keep them in the freezer and can use them to perfectly chill room temperature wine; have used them for other drinks, as well and even to de-puff thanks to blogger Being Bridget's recommendation (noticed Amazon says that they're frequently purchased together with the ice roller above, likely due to Bridget's recommendation, haha!)
Tie Back Sweatshirt: under $30; I ordered this in cream and live in it and love it so much that I ordered another in black when preparing these guides last night; wear it with workout clothes and also with jeans and booties; many friends have purchased at my recommendation and equally love it, including a pregnant friend who says it's perfect for a bump when sized up one; true to size with a comfy fit
Waffle Maker: currently 60% off and under $50; we received this waffle maker as a wedding gift and love it (just made chocolate chip waffles on Sunday); I think this could be a great in-laws gift, especially if you're in-laws are grandparents as it would be a fun activity with kids
Living Proof Duo & Chic Shower Cap: I'd bundle these together and the total would come to about $65; I'm not exaggerating when I say that Living Proof Dry Shampoo has changed my life; time saved not having to wash my hair daily is huge; I've tried several dry shampoos and hands down this is the best and the volume boost spray is equally amazing; would be a perfect gift for your sister of bestie paired with a chic shower cap inspired by Mrs. Southern Social (also love the striped and abstract floral caps here and here)
Salad Dressing Shaker: under $10; I've shared on Stories my tips for homemade dressing (we never buy premade dressing!) and this shaker gets used multiple times a week in our house; would make a great stocking stuffer or gift bundles with this Mighty Salads cookbook
Silicon Wine Stoppers: under $10 for a set of 4; these would make a great stocking stuffer as a set or divvied up; we have a handful of similar ones we bought at a vineyard years ago and love them; these have great reviews
Rummikub: under $12; Bryce and I both grew up playing Rummikub with our families and y'all always ask about it when I post on Stories; would make a great gift for a family
Nest Holiday Votive: under $20!; when it comes to candles, I'm very picky about scents and rarely like a strong scented candle; this is the one exception and puts me in the perfect spirit; this votive size is affordable and would make the perfect stocking stuffer or gift for a teacher or co-worker
Tech Gloves: just $10.99; these unisex gloves are touchscreen friendly, come in multiple colors, and are rated 4.5/5 based on 713 ratings; great stocking stuffer
Thermos: currently 50% off and under $20; Bryce has this thermos and loves it; he uses it to make "special tea" for the duck blind (aka tea spiked with bourbon)
Scout Makeup Pouch: under $30; I've been using Scout products since high school and love the fun prints and durability; this makeup pouch is so cute; also, if in need of a teacher gift, this Scout Pocket Rocket tote was the exact bag I used as a kindergarten teacher and would be great gifted from a class filled with supplies or some of the teacher's favorite things
Hand Cream: under $30; this hand cream finds its way to my stocking nearly every year; it's a little pricey, but is the best...and if you don't believe me, trust the 1,226 reviewers that give it 4.5/5 stars

Shew...that's a wrap!

Hang in there this week!

2019 Holiday Gift Guide: GENTS

Happy Thanksgiving Eve...again!

I'm so pleased y'all are already enjoying my Ladies Gift Guide!

I did an Insta poll earlier this afternoon to see if the Gents gift guide was worth it and y'all overwhelming voted "Yes please!" to a a guide for all the men in your life. As usual, this is skewed to the Southern Gent, and just like the Ladies guides, most of these items are things Bryce has and loves or wants for himself. In fact, most of the items in this guide were compiled by him for you!

Many links below are affiliate links meaning I earn a small commission if you click and make a purchase. More details on each item linked below the collage!

Leather Catchall20% off + free shipping with code FRIENDS; Bryce has a similar square version in a dark brown he keeps on his dresser, but I am loving the look of this "baseball leather" and shape and size; also love that the snaps on the corners enable you to flatten it; this catchall can make a collection of items (spare change, collar stays, etc) look tidy
Head Lamp: under $40; a favorite in our house - we have a bunch scattered about ready to grab at any moment; Bryce said to be sure to share it's not just for camping - think walking the dog, taking the trash out, grilling at night; this particular one is Bryce's very favorite!
Lip Balm: I gifted Bryce some of this lip balm last year and he loves it so much he recommended I include it on the guides; would make a great stocking stuffer!
Dot Socks: I gift Bryce socks in his stocking every year and also include them in my gents gift guide every year; these merino wool dotted socks are Bryce's favorite for dress up and I'll likely be choosing these for his stocking this year so he'll have a few fresh pairs; a bit on the pricey side, but sure to please; come in the black shown, plus 3 other colors
Personalized Stationery: under $30!; Bryce has some custom Crane stationery he was gifted that is so nice, but this stationery I found for the guides is equally handsome and a fraction of the price...plus I'm all for supporting a small American biz; I'm partial to the trout design pictured, but there are tons of other options sure to please any man in your life
Old South Hat: under $30; Bryce's recommendation - "Cool hat!"
South: under $30; if you follow Southern cuisine at all, you've heard of Sean Brock; he actually trained under Bryce's brother Chef Walter Bundy of Shagbark here in Richmond and we're big fans; this book is his newest cookbook and shares classic Southern recipes with a spin; if you haven't yet, also check out his first cookbook Heritage
Performance Button Down: I popped into Onward Reserve when in Georgetown last month and had to resist the urge to buy the whole store for Bryce for Christmas; I especially fell in love with these performance button downs that have the tailored look of a nice shirt, but the performance fabric of a fishing shirt; Santa may just have to bring one down the chimney for Bryce; run large - order one size down
Torch: under $50 and the satisfaction that will come using and showing off this torch is priceless; used to light a charcoal grill, one of our best friend's actually commented on Stories that I needed to include this - I mentioned it to Bryce, asking him to send the link, and he said "Oh yeah, Davis and Frank love the torch!"
Almond Toffee Petites: the way to a man's heart is his stomach, and Bryce recommended these; I've never actually had them, which shows he keeps them all to himself, haha!
Nano Puff Jacket: Bryce has both this Patagonia puffer and the down version and prefers this one because it's lightweight, but still warm, and the nano puff is water resistant unlike the down; made of recycled materials; compressible and can stow in its own pocket; a little pricey, but quality, quality, quality and brand known for ethics; comes in 10 colors and true to size
Needlepoint Cuff Links: 20% off with code FRIENDS brings them to under $50; for the dapper guy in your life; these personalized black and white cuff links would look so good with a tux!
Letter Opener: under $40; this letter opener is made from the wood of tulip poplars Jefferson planted at Monticello; Bryce loves his!
Suede Loafers: under $100 and have 105 5-star reviews!; every man should have at least one good pair of loafers or driving mocs; these come in 6 colors and I also love the brown here on sale for just $60; Bryce has these crocodile ones I included in my guides last year; on sale for under $100; and, if you really want to spoil your man, I'd get these splurge suede driving mocs
Yeti Lowball: just $15 with code BRIGHT; Yeti products really are the best; we have a few of the tumblers and I'm continually amazed by just how cold they keep our drinks; love this lowball version for a cocktail on the go; would make a great stocking stuffer or white elephant gift
Camo Dopp Kit: 20% off + free shipping with code FRIENDS; a good dopp kit is another essential for every man and this camo printed leather really caught my eye; love that it's also lined with nylon for easy clean up and that the foil debossed monogram is included for free
Pheasant Lapel Pin: under $60; the best things come in small packages and this pin would make a great addition to a suit or blazer; also comes in lab, fly, and trout styles
ExOfficio Boxers: currently 40% off; these were the only thing Bryce asked for last year for Christmas; when I went to REI to get them, every salesperson in the place raved about them and when I shared on Stories and in my Prime last minute gift guide, many of you shared the men in your life are equally as obsessed as Bryce is; Bryce stocked up today while they're on sale, and you should too
Watch: on sale for $129 and has rave reviews; love the versatility of this classic watch and that it can be personalized with an engraved monogram on the back of the face
Democracy Coasters: this set of 4 coasters feature the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, Constitution, and the Civil Rights Act; great reviews and sure to please the patriot or history buff; also love these coasters and my parents gifted these to Bryce years ago and we always get compliments
Charging Carabiner: 20% off making it under $25 with code FRIENDS; this tool is so handy; throw it on a backpack or use it carry your keys and always have a phone charger at hand
Hot Sauce Ornament: just $8 (or less) with code BRIGHT; perfect for the hot and spicy man in your life
Garment Folder: Bryce bought this in advance of a two week work trip to Germany a couple of years ago and insisted I include it in my gift guides- he raves about it!; helps to perfectly fold your shirts when packing and also is a space saver
Waxed Tote: Filson products are a splurge, but are made in America of the highest quality and are extremely rugged and durable; the waxed style is water repellent and this is also nylon lined; Bryce has an earlier version without the zipper and loves its versatility; I'll also remind you of this other favorite tote that y'all have loved in my gift guides the last 2 years that is just $55!
Throw Blanket: currently 30% off; made of recycled materials, this throw is stylish enough to please both gents and ladies...much better than the nylon camping camo throw Bryce loves, haha!
Pocket Saw: under $40; another Bryce recommendation - "my favorite saw" - he keeps it in his blind bag when hunting to brush blinds; also great for cutting small firewood when camping, or even just pruning in the yard
Ostrich Boots: these boots are definitely a splurge, but handmade and so so good; I am hoping to be able to pop into the Tecovas store when in Austin next week; also love these and these are Bryce's all-time favorite boots (that I love, too), but I couldn't find a shoppable link to include them in the guide above
Cigar: under $70 for a pack of 4; if you're guy's into cigars, Bryce highly recommends these; would be the perfect Christmas present that could be enjoyed on New Year's Eve
Shotgun Shell Belt & Rattlesnake Belt: these are Bryce's two favorite belts, and that's saying a lot because he has too many belts; the rattlesnake is more of a splurge (and not my favorite, honestly), but he loves it and always gets compliments on it!
Card Bottle Opener: under $20 with code BRIGHT; love that this bottle opener is the size of a credit card and can fit easily into a wallet or money clip; would make a great stocking stuffer!

What men are you shopping for this year?

Happy shopping!

Have a great Thanksgiving!

2019 Holiday Gift Guide: LADIES

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

I don't know about y'all, but I am READY for the holidays! Aside from shopping ahead, all things Christmas before Thanksgiving used to bother me. This year in particular, I pulled my Nest Holiday candle out immediately after Halloween, and have even found myself playing the occasional Christmas tune. Each year the holiday season seems to come and go even more quickly, so I no longer mind extending the festivities.

One holiday tradition I do look forward to is sharing gift guides with you! There is so much satisfaction in giving someone you care about the perfect gift, but amongst all the demands of the holiday season, shopping can become just one more stressor and there can be a lot of pressure to find the right gift. I aim to make that easier for you, and also to make it easier on your wallet by delivering my guides each year before Black Friday (which seems to come earlier each year, as you'll see that many of the items I'm sharing are already marked down by retailers for Black Friday).

As always, my guides are filled with things I own and love, or things on my personal wish list! Many of the items are linked with affiliate links, meaning I earn a small commission if you buy. Below the collage you'll find more details about each item (sale status, sizing, options at other price points, etc). Also, be sure to tune into Stories on Instagram today, and in the coming weeks, as I'll feature more details about favorites from the guides and will also share sale alerts!

Bamboo Bangle: under $20!; I've had this bangle over 10 years and live in it during the summer--it's lightweight and stacks well with other bracelets; this would make a great stocking stuffer or white elephant gift
Coin Necklace: I've been really loving the coin necklace trend, particularly when two are layered together, and have been ogling Jane Winchester's at the high end from Tuckernuck; so was pleased to find this quality gold-plated version for you at a much more approachable price point
Bamboo Flatware: under $30 with code SCORE; this bamboo flatware was on my Christmas list last year and my parents gifted it to me; for $30 you get four place settings as compared to the oh so lovely, oh so pricey Juliska version that sells for $188 for just one place setting; get lots of compliments on these which can be "dressed up" or "dressed down"; finally, as a bonus they're dishwasher safe!; see them styled on my table here and here
Faux Fur Scarf: Hands down one of my favorite winter accessories is my faux fur scarf; mine is no longer available, but this one has great reviews and the black is so chic; the pull through design also makes styling a cinch; also love this leopard one that's currently 60% off and under $20; this one comes in 4 colors including a fab hot pink and taupe that's similar to mine; and this one on sale for under $30 is more of a stole and would be fab paired with a sleeveless or strapless cocktail dress at a holiday party
Key Ring: under $10 and comes in 35 colors; this key ring would be the perfect gift for all your girlfriends, especially mamas, or would also make a great white elephant gift or stocking stuffer
Living Floral: under $30; this is on my wish list and might be my favorite entertaining coffee table book...ever!; my mother-in-law has it and I am slowly making my way through it studying and reading every page filled with events and tips from tastemakers like Charlotte Moss and Tara Guerard
Star Pajamas: on sale for under $100 thru December 2; I believe the best gifts are those that someone would want and love but not buy oneself and Lake Pajamas totally fit that bill; I shared with y'all on Stories this summer after purchasing a short set on sale, that while I love them, I don't think they're worth full price; I did however think they were perfect for my own wish list and am crossing my fingers Santa may bring me a pair...this Sister Parish red star set is perfect for Christmas; if even the sale price feels a little too steep, I have two sets of these that are about half the price while on sale now for 40% off and they are so soft and cozy; also love these festive ones on sale for under $40 and these Christmas cuties on sale for under $30
Tortoise Candle: under $30!; stylish candles that are affordable are hard to come by and this one is oh so chic!; I love that it comes in a wide range of scent options (mine is the clean scent Cotton Creek) and I plan to save the tortoise container once the candle is done - wouldn't it be pretty for flowers!?; would make a great hostess gift for a holiday party wrapped in a clear bag with a big red bow
Pearl Studs: under $100; I received these myself as a gift last year and reach for them multiple times a week; y'all love them too and ask me about them all the time on Insta; they're a classic that will never go out of style; I have the large size
Funny Bunny Polish: under $10; I choose this shade for gel manicures again and again - it is the perfect white polish; sometimes white nails look far too stark to me and this is a more subtle, slightly sheer white that is so beautiful, it's subtle shade also means it works better year-round; on the opposite end of the spectrum here is the perfect almost black polish from my guides last year
La Croix Ornament: because we all have at least 5 La Croix loving friends; I included the orange as that is my all time favorite flavor, but also comes in pink and green; selling out fast many places so as a back up, you can also find it here, here, and here
Cosmetic Bag: I'll be completely honest, I'm not entirely sure what all the hype for MZ Wallace is about- maybe because the quilted style is an homage to our beloved high school Vera Bradley?; that said, I am in the market for a new cosmetic bag and this rose gold one caught my eye in store recently and I do really like that the fabric is water- and stain- resistant; I also have had this Scout one since college and love it for less than half the price of the MZ Wallace
SlippersI've had these now for 7 years and absolutely love them and y'all do too because you always ask about them on Stories; come in 9 colors, so cozy, water resistant and have a rubber sole so they can be worn outside; I often slip them on when I'm headed to the barre studio at 0 dark 30 to teach 6:00 am class; run large, order one full size down; also love this more affordable monogrammed version (under $25 with code SPORT15)
Stationery Suite: on sale for under $50; I have this stationery suite in ivory which is a southern lady's dream!; comes with 25 each of flat notecards, folded notecards, and folded enclosure cards; I am also obsessing over this modern stationery
Bud Vase: under $50 + up to 30% off; I've eyed this bud vase in stores in the clear glass, but when I came across it in the pink for gift guides I was sold...swoon!; this would be a great gift for the gal who has everything and I love that it's beautiful enough to hold its own with or without flowers
Overnight Peel: 15% off through December 1; I started using this last year in anticipation of my 30th birthday and it has transformed my skin so much that within weeks of using it, y'all were commenting on Insta and asking for a skincare post (that I still haven't gotten to a year later, ha); I aim to use it nightly and it smooths and brightens skin after just one use; if you don't believe me check the 1,766 5 star reviews; note the packaging has changed and looks different from my collage above - the link is correct! (if you need a consultant, Kathleen Baker is the best!)
Pearl Barrette: under $30 with code BRIGHT; the best things come in little packages; this pretty pearl barrette adds glam to any outfit and would be perfect for the girly girl in your life; also love this similar Prime 4-pack for just $5.99 as a stocking stuffer
Clean Volumizing Mascara & Clean Lengthening Mascara: under $25 each; I've shared on Stories that I've slowly been trying to swap out my beauty products for more clean options and these clean mascaras are THE best..truly like them better than any other mascara I've used; I like to wear both, using the volumizing first with lengthening layered on top, but both are great on their own, too
Lip Gloss I actually wore this lip gloss at my wedding in the "Giza" shade (no longer available, but "Outrage" is a similar option); it can be worn as a pretty neutral gloss alone, but I love it most layered over lipstick, particularly red lipstick
Lip Salveunder $10; this Mint Rose balm is my absolute favorite; I've been using it for probably 10 years now and always have a jar on my bedside table and a tube in my bag so I'm not using germy fingers when out and about; would make a perfect stocking stuffer or teacher gift paired with some nice hand lotion and a holiday candle
Roll Neck Sweater: up to 60% off sale price; I purchased this sweater in the Dark Papaya color on Black Friday last year for a steal and it is a favorite; it's very comfy and "easy" to wear and the cut is both lengthening and slimming; true to size; sadly size options are sparse right now, but I'd watch for a restock and also check out this cotton version (also up to 60% off) with much more availability - I love the gray!
Soho Platter: a hostess's dream!; I received one of these platters for our wedding and use it so much I bought a second last year; can be put in oven up to 375F; versatile size which allows you to use it as a platter for food or as a pretty tray; at a lower price point, this is another piece I reach for again and again that y'all loved in my gift guide last year available through Amazon Prime; also check out the line's new "Giftables" items that are smaller and all under $50!
Leopard Headband: under $10!; I am here for the new headband trend and actually never stopped wearing headbands in the first place; I'm loving these new statement, knotted styles and y'all know I can't say no to leopard- for under $10, I think I'll be gifting this one to myself...and maybe every other gal on my list
Blue Scarf: under $50 + up to 30% off with code BRIGHT; I have this scarf in two other patterns and it exudes style...and looks way more expensive than it is- so much so that when getting tea at the swanky Sketch in London, the host commented on my Hermes! (I didn't correct him, rather said "Good eye, thank you!" Ha!); I am definitely adding this to my list or buying for myself because I wanted this print so badly last year, but it sold out
Glam Clutch: just $35 through Amazon Prime; I discovered this clutch through one of Holy City Chic's Amazon hauls and instantly fell in love; comes in 4 other colors and reminds me of this pricier one here; I also am obsessed with this $60 star one
Vogue Puzzle: under $20 + up to 30% off with code BRIGHT; I love puzzles for vacations or extended visits with family and these chic ones (more here) are so fab!; I also really love this New Yorker Christmas one; would be perfect to gift to your family's holiday hostess and to pull out to complete by the tree with a fire blazing and Bing Crosby on the radio, ahhh!
Staffordshire Tote: ummm...can you believe how cute this is?; also love this tartan topiary one; I have one of these totes in the ginger jar print (with coral straps they sadly no longer make) and Millie has her very own in the camo dog print; can have them monogrammed by the company, but I prefer a more couture monogram and had mine and Millie's embroidered locally at Atlantic Embroidery Works
Pocket Tape Measure: I have one of these in my purse and reach for it all the time...far more often than I expected when I bought it; love the chic monogram; items like these make great gifts for the gal who has everything
Crossbody Bag: Linked the black which is currently 60% off, also available in 4 other colors for 60% off here and love this clear style for a college student; I have this in navy and it may have been my best purchase of 2018; it is big enough to hold a wallet, keys, phone, and more, but still sleek; I used it during our entire England trip; the strap is removable so it can be worn as a clutch or crossbody; dressed up and down; since getting my Goyard, I keep mine in my bag with my wallet in it at all times, so I can just slip it out if I don't want to carry my big tote somewhere
Snake Mules: so on trend right now - I ordered these mules about a month ago and have been wearing them non-stop since getting them and receive compliments every time; true to size and seriously so comfortable; come in 7 other colorways including a leopard that is to die for!

Who's on your list this year?

Last Minute Prime Gift Guide

Happy December 18, friends!

ONE...

WEEK...

UNTIL...

CHRISTMAS!!!

Are you ready?

As mentioned last week, we've got a little bit of wrapping left and still need to get our Christmas cards out. I ordered through Minted, a little later than intended, and our cards were supposed to arrive yesterday. Well, last night I got an email saying they were delayed 1-2 days. According to tracking, they should arrive by 10:30 am today; and while I'm disappointed, I have to say Minted is handling this in the best way possible. They refunded all shipping charges and also refunded me 30% of the order total. Fingers crossed they make it today so I can get them signed, sealed, delivered!

I decided last week it would be fun to put together one more bonus gift guide: a Last Minute Amazon Prime Gift Guide! Being that Amazon Prime is all about practicality, I figured I'd make the focus on practical gifts. Being 30 now, I find myself feeling very adult (tehehe) and wanting practical more and more. As always, most of these are things I currently own and love, or things I would want for myself. Just as I did with my other guides, I've included commentary about each item below the guide.

And if you haven't yet, be sure to check out my other 2 gifts guides. There are Prime picks in both, and many other items that are still available, on sale, and guaranteed for holiday delivery:

Salad Spinner: How did I live 28 years without a salad spinner? This salad spinner is one of our most used wedding gifts. I absolutely hate cleaning salad greens, because it's so hard to get them dry after and this spinner makes it a breeze!
Festive Dog Collar: This holiday plaid collar is so cute! The brand is Up Country and Millie has had this zebra one and matching leash (not available thru Prime), since she graduated from her little pink puppy collar. It has been on her swimming in the river, through mud, and more and is still in great shape.
Rosebud Lip Balm: This lip balm has been in my gift guides year after year and for good reason. I've been using it for probably 10 years now and always have this tube in my purse, and the jar on my nightstand.
L'occitane Hand Cream: Good hand cream is a necessity during the cold winter months and this cream is so decadent, and doesn't leave your palms feeling greasy or clammy (my pet peeve with most hand lotions).
Amazon Fire Stick: My dad gifted us one of these years ago and we use it almost exclusively when watching TV...we really do need to cancel our cable. You can get so many streaming apps through it, and we use it to stream Pandora whenever we want to play music, as well. Bonus points if you gift an Amazon Prime membership with it.
Fitbit: Bryce just purchased a Fitbit on Cyber Monday and has been loving it. The new ones sync with your phone for texts and the sleep tracking has been motivating us both to get more shut eye.
Dry Shampoo: I've tried several different dry shampoos, at both high and low price points, and this one is hands down the BEST! It also has a nice fresh scent that isn't overpowering. I'd love for my stocking to be stuffed with Perfect Hair Day!
Coravin Wine System: This has been high on my personal wish list ever since seeing blogger Being Bridget rave about it on Instagram (see her Stories tutorial here). She's had hers for 6 years and it enables you to pour a glass of wine without unsealing the cork...meaning you could make a bottle last for months! Perfect for nights when Bryce is having a beer and I want just a glass of wine.
Champagne Stopper: If a Coravin is out of your price range, this champagne stopper is a great stocking stuffer to help extend the life of your bubbly!
Garlic Peeler: We eat A LOT of garlic and this little tool is so handy! It enables you to peel garlic with just a quick roll, avoiding the smell that can get stuck in your nails when trying to peel by hand. Great stocking stuffer!
Herb Scissors: Another favorite kitchen tool that I actually included in my Ladies Gift Guide last year. Herbs can be difficult to chop and these scissors make it quick and easy. The only time I bother to actually chop now is when I'm preparing herbs to look pretty as a garnish.
Fatwood: We burn a lot of wood fires all winter. In fact, I may need to do another ladie's fire building tutorial on Stories now that I can create it as a highlight reel. Fatwood is key to getting a good fire going. Speaking of fires, not Amazon Prime, but this log carrier is one of Bryce's favorite Christmas gifts I've given him, and comes with free 2-day shipping if you order by December 20!
Cordless Vacuum: One of my favorite bloggers is Megan of Holy City Chic. She raves about this vacuum for clean up in between deep vacuuming; and swears it's far better than its Dyson counterpart which is much more pricey. It also has a handheld detachable vacuum. When my parents were asking for gift ideas for Bryce, I was tempted to tell them he really wanted this, haha! I think I may buy it with some Christmas money.
Pasta Measuring Fork: I have a very similar pasta fork, which try as I might I couldn't find online anywhere! What I love about it is that the holes are used for measuring spaghetti servings. I never know how much to cook, so it's very useful. This little tool also does the same job.
Handbag Organizer: I ordered this when my Goyard arrived this fall and absolutely love it. It's the perfect size for any large tote bag, and keeps me so organized while also protecting the liner of my bag from stains. You can see how it fits inside my Goyard GM here (similar size to LV Neverful MM or Longchamp Large Les Pliages), and what I love about the size is that there's still room in my bag for a laptop, book, gym clothes, etc around the organizer.
Room Freshener: I love to spray this on our mattress and pillows when changing the sheets. It would be great to spray on linens in a guest room, as well, to make a room that doesn't get used so often smell fresh.
Moleskin Notebook: Day to day at work, I tend to use small notepads and legal pads, but always have a Moleskin handy for when I'm going to a Board meeting or donor meeting where I want to come across as a little more professional. Love the blue color!
Mini Steamer: This is another top pick from our wedding registry! I don't iron. The 2-3 times a year I need something ironed, I have Bryce do it. This gets me through the rest of the year and is the perfect size for travel. It heats up in a flash, and also helps me to extend wear of items between dry cleans.
Hanky Panky Set: It doesn't get much more practical than underwear for Christmas and Hanky Pankys have been my very favorite undies for years. Love this colors in this "Something Blue" trio.
Greek Key Doormat: I always use a coir doormat- they're durable and stylish. This Greek key style is a classic that will match just about any decor.
Boxer Briefs: Those who follow along on Instastories have heard all the hype about these boxer briefs. In fact they're the ONLY thing Bryce asked for this year! Would be perfectly practical for the hard to shop for man.
Table Topics: My mother-in-law has these and they're so fun for dinner parties or just family get togethers to energize the conversation. I might even order them for Bryce and I...sometimes we'll take turns asking each other random questions and this would probably make it easier and more interesting.

How is your Christmas shopping coming along?

Are you a fan of practical gifts?

Will you take advantage of Amazon Prime this holiday season?

Have a great day!

2018 Holiday Gift Guide: GENTS

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

I am busy busy over here! As mentioned, we are hosting my family for Thanksgiving tomorrow, so preparations are in full swing

I am so glad that you are enjoying the gift guides.

If you haven't yet, check out the ladies here.

A few notes, before we start. I noticed that last year's guides have gotten some traffic since I posted yesterday. Though I can't guarantee things in those guides will still be in stock or that links will work, they can be accessed here for ladies and here for gents if you want some inspiration. (Hint: if you see an item from last year's gift guide that was repeated again this year that means I really love it!) I've also now set up the "SHOP" tab at the top of my blog to populate with all the items I've saved for Gift Guides, so you'll see there many items I loved but didn't make the cut. I'll continue to add to it throughout the season.

So without further adieu, let's dive into the Gents! As always, Bryce is the inspiration here. This year, though, we took it up a notch and Bryce wrote me a long list of things he loves that have been included. He's really disappointed, however, that I did not include this Churchill biography (under $15), so if your boyfriend/dad/husband/brother is a history buff check it out!

Again, today, many of these links are affiliate links, meaning I earn a small commission if you click and a purchase is made. And also again today, I've included comments below with more details about all 31 items, including promo codes for everything that's on sale (including a promo code JUST for Alexandra Bee Blog readers for the cuff links).

Monogrammed Leather Catchall: Bryce has a similar square version in a dark brown he keeps on his dresser, but I am loving the look of this "baseball leather" and shape and size; similar to the tray I posted in the ladies guide yesterday, this catchall can make a collection of items (spare change, collar stays, etc) look tidy; 20% off + free shipping with code FRIENDS
Sunglasses: these are a splurge item, but so well made and stylish; you can see Bryce wearing them dressed up here, dressed down here, and at our wedding here; rarely go on sale and currently 20% off putting them just under $300; they are on major sale in limited quantities here and here; also like this similar more affordable pair at $50 here and this very similar pair under $100 here
Cigar Case: under $15; Bryce has a similar Dunhill cigar case and loves to have it to take to special occasions, like a wedding where he'll share a cigar with the groom; this is a more affordable option and would make a great stocking stuffer; the alligator print is so chic
Lab Ornament: under $10; we have this exact ornament for our tree; dogs are called man's best friend for a reason, so gift a dog ornament
Needlepoint Hat: appeal to his wild and preppy side with a jolly roger needlepoint hat; Bryce has this one, but since not every man is a Deadhead, I chose the jolly roger for the guide; there are options sure to please every man on your list here, though!
Charging Carabiner: this tool is so handy; throw it on a backpack or use it carry your keys and always have a phone charger at hand; 20% off (and under $25) with code FRIENDS
Chef's Knife: repeat alert!; this knife is a splurge, but the best; it is my favorite knife we own and according to Bryce it's all about the Damascus blade; cheers to a gift that will get your man in the kitchen; get it while it's on sale!
Driving Mocs: get them while they're on sale for under $100; every man should have a pair of driving mocs in his wardrobe; they're stylish and comfy; love that Cole Haan is high on style with an approachable price point; I gifted Bryce this crocodile pair for his birthday that are on sale for under $65 and available in limited sizes here
Party Animal Tie: because every guy needs a Christmas tie; up to 30% off with code GOWILD
Old Glory Blanket: for the patriot in your life that needs a housewarming...literally;  more of a splurge, but currently on sale; similar under $40 here
Custom Nautical Coasters: these make a truly one of a kind gift; made to order - you provide custom chart location(s); brass hardware and green felt on the bottom to protect your table; great price point for such a personalized keepsake
Cologne: Bryce has used this John Varvatos cologne since before we met and it has such a clean and masculine scent
Kanvus Jean: Bryce discovered these this fall and they are a new favorite; they're much softer and I'd say more chino like than a jean; a bit utilitarian/outdoorsy; come in several colors (Bryce has both the gray and khaki); they can be dressed up with a button down (B's fave) and loafers or dressed down with a fishing shirt (B's fave) and boots; Bryce prefers the relaxed fit and finds them to be true to size
Fleece Vest: Bryce wears this at least 3 times a week all fall and winter; comes in 3 colors; he also has a Retro-X version (loving that one in camo here), but prefers this one as it's lighter weight and less bulky, meaning it also packs well when traveling, bonus it's also less expensive than the Retro-X and under $100
Facial Fuel: repeat alert!; under $30; this facial fuel is a light moisturizer and is especially great for the cold winter months when skin dries out
Hunter's Tote Bag: repeat alert!; Bryce was gifted one of these as a groomsman gift last summer and uses it almost exclusively now for travel; it holds SO much and I love that it zips shut and has a strap with padding to carry on your shoulder; Bryce has it in the extra large which is just $55, plus you earn a $10 gift card with any purchase over $50
Adventure Chronograph: love how this orange watch really pops; nylon band ensures it is durable; perfect for the man with an adventurous spirit and bold personality
Pheasant Feather Cufflinks: I gifted Bryce these cufflinks with matching studs for Christmas a few years ago (remember this post?); simply said, they're stunning; made with real pheasant feathers; all York River Traders products have impeccable quality and detail (I've loved partnering with them in the past) and today is your lucky day because Alexandra Bee readers get them for 25% off with code BeeBlog through this Saturday 11/24
Dot Socks: I always gift Bryce at least one pair of J. Crew socks in his stocking and this might be the pair this year, love the dots; 40% off (putting them under $10) with code TOGETHER
Head Lamp: under $30; I don't know how many headlamps Bryce has laying around the house, but they sure do come in handy and Petzl are the best
Tervis Old Fashioned Glass: Tervis tumblers are the best, amirite?; we love the 12-oz old fashioned size for cocktails, especially in the summertime; couldn't resist the Virginia blue crab; set of 4 for under $50
Leather Sunglass Strap: every Southern gent needs a sunglass strap and this leather one is on point; up to 30% off with code GOWILD; Bryce has and loves these which I featured in my gift guide last year (not so stylish, but under $15 and functional)
Hot Pepper Bacon Jam: the way to a man's heart is through his stomach; we were just drooling over this jam yesterday at Fresh Market while choosing jam to serve with our baked brie
Griptilian Knife: this knife was on the list Bryce gave me, when I just asked him what comments I should add he said "Well, it's made by Benchmade which is made in the USA and they're just tough. I carry mine every day."; comes in 8 colors (Bryce has the plain edge silver)
FrostPak Soft Cooler: under $50; we love this cooler!; Bryce has the 12 quart (pictured above) in blue; it's lightweight and perfect for a day on the boat, taking beer or food to a friend's house for dinner, etc; we've checked out the Yeti soft coolers and just don't get the hype, plus they get so heavy; the 12 quart size is convenient and manageable; Bryce also was gifted this soft cooler last year by his boss and recommends it- it's a bit more heavy duty and stylish (less dad-ish, haha), but also more pricey
Foxfire: this book is a classic (my dad gifted Bryce his vintage set); the long title is Foxfire: Hog Dressing, Log Cabin Building, Mountain Crafts and Foods, Planting by the Signs...ie: all the man things; and if you really want to splurge you can get the full 14-book Foxfire series here
Hot Sauce Kit: under $50; Bryce has been on a hot sauce making kick lately after having quite the pepper harvest this year; this kit simplifies the process and would make the perfect gift for any man that need a little spice in his life
Dopp Kit: Bryce is a huge fan of Filson products; they're made in the USA and the quality is top notch; this dopp kit is nylon which makes it both easier to clean and more affordable; speaking of Filson, I ran out of room to feature this log carrier I gave Bryce for Christmas several years ago that he loves
Cast Iron Skillet: this is a major splurge item, but worth sharing; Bryce has this "roaster" pictured above and this skillet and prefers the roaster I've featured in the guide; they're handcrafted locally in Charlottesville, Virginia; if that price point feels too high, this Staub skillet is great at a mid-range under $100 point, and you can't go wrong with a Lodge skillet for under $30 either
Working Hands: because men need soft hands, too; would make a great stocking stuffer; Bryce swears by this stuff and if you don't trust him, trust the 6,802 5 star reviews
Duck Boots: Bryce has two pairs of these without the shearling lining (which they don't seem to make anymore) and actually prefers this buckle style to the more popular lace up style; they're more comfortable and easier to slip on and off; a classic that will never go out of style or usefulness; do run slightly large order a half size down

So there you have it! All your men's gifting needs covered!

What men are you shopping for this year?

Do you shop ahead, wait for Black Friday, or wait for the last minute?

2018 Holiday Gift Guide: LADIES

Happy Tuesday readers!

I hope you're having a great week!

Today is my Friday and I am so excited for Thanksgiving break.

We are hosting my family for Thanksgiving this year and I am glad to have the extra day to prepare.

I'm excited to bring you my Ladies Gift Guide today. I always have so much fun putting these together and was glad to hear from so many of you on Instagram that you love shopping them. This year, I'm adding a new feature. As always, all items will be linked below the guide, but at the bottom, I'll have notes about each item (promo codes; why I chose it, personal experience with products I own, etc), so if there's something you have your eye on, be sure to scroll down for more details and to see if it's on sale.

And for those of you that told me you always find your man's gifts on my guides, Gents is coming tomorrow!

Many of these items are under $100 and many already on sale as Black Friday seems to now be a whole "Black Week."

As in past posts, many of these links are affiliate meaning I earn a small commission if you click and purchase. Thanks for your support!

Leopard Booties: booties are a go-to fall through winter and these might be top of my personal Christmas list; also come in a fun star print and solid leather options; Boden is known for quality and you can get these for 30% of with code V4N9
Rose Face Cream: I recently received a sample of this and it lasted me about a week- in that time, my face became so incredibly smooth, so as soon as I run out of my daily moisturizer, I plan to replace it with this one; it has a lovely rose scent and feels very decadent on so would be great for someone on your list who could use some pampering; a little pricey, but there's also a gift set featuring it here that you can get for under $50 with code BEAUTY20
Pearl Ring: I have been swooning over this since I found it for the gift guides and might just have to order it for myself; it feels very Julie Vos, but is under $50!
Leopard Ornament: I love this little guy and ornaments can make fun gifts or even look great tied on the outside of a present with your gift tag and bow; what's even better is he's chic enough to stay out year-round long after the tree is gone; 20% off with code HOME
Dream Design Live: under $25 and another personal wish list item; you may remember I mentioned it in this post; I've flipped through this book in Barnes & Noble and have a major design crush on its author Paloma Contreras
Bow Back Sweater: on sale for under $50; must see the back of this sweater; it was one of my very favorite purchases last winter so I'm thrilled it's been restocked and you can see it styled on my Insta here; it does run large (mine is petite XS and still roomy enough to be cozy or layered over a button down)
Hoops: currently on sale with free shipping; I've seen these in person in a local boutique and love;  they make a statement while still being subtle enough for daytime wear; and if you really want to splurge and spoil a special lady with hoops, you can get these which are a staple in my wardrobe that I wear at least 3 times a week
Overnight Peel: I started using this peel about 3 weeks ago and holy moly, y'all: what a transformation in my skin!; you've even been commenting on Insta and asking for a skincare post- it's coming - but in the meantime, get this; I use it nightly; if you don't believe me check the 1,183 5 star reviews and snag it while it's on sale for under $50 (from Kathleen Baker, if you don't have your own consultant)
Pink Scarf: okay, I'm ordering this- it's on sale for $10...I may order 10 and get them for all my friends; love that the pink is versatile for post-holiday wear (hello, Valentine's Day!), but it also comes in 4 other colorways including a tartan that screams Christmas!
Wavy Bowl: I'm a big fan of Susan Gordon Pottery and these wavy bowls; they are stunning and I've gifted them to others before; bonus points for supporting a female small business owner!
Sunglasses: there's just something so glamorous about a big pair of tortoise shell sunglasses; I've been eyeing (pun intended) a pair of Karen Walkers for years, and one of my faves Katie Chalk wears these so well; these hardly ever go on sale so snag them now for up to 25% off with code MORE18
Leather Leggings: these were a favorite of yours and mine last year and for good reason; they're high waisted and suck you in in all the right places; if between sizes, I recommend sizing up; I wear a medium; I recently learned they come in a maternity version for any readers who are expecting and a friend who is due in late December was raving about them, and you can get them up to 25% off here with code MORE18
Tray: trays are one of my favorite design elements because they can make a table look pulled together; also love them for entertaining; natural fibers ground a space, but I love that this one takes the design to the next level by modernizing the rattan with acrylic; 20% off with code HOME
Candle: under $50; I'm really picky when it comes to candles; I don't like anything strong or fruity; I prefer crisp, clean scents and this one is amazing, y'all; I had it burning when I hosted barReVA Friendsgiving last week everyone was asking where I got it!
Champagne Ornament: under $15; another fun ornament for any ladies with an effervescent personality; this one, too, can stay out on the bar cart through New Years and past the holidays
Olive Vest: this fleece lined vest can be dressed up with a blouse or down with athleisure gear; it is made to be a Barbour liner, but doubles as a vest; if you want to purchase as a liner, purchase in the same size as your Barbour coat; if you want to purchase as a vest, I recommend sizing up one size; up to 30% off with code GOWILD
Crossbody Bag: I have this in navy and it may have been my best purchase of the year; it is big enough to hold a wallet, keys, phone, and more, but still sleek; I used it during our entire England trip; the strap is removable so it can be worn as a clutch or crossbody; dressed up and down; since getting my Goyard, I keep mine in my bag with my wallet in it at all times, so I can just slip it out if I don't want to carry my big tote somewhere; Gigi New York always has amazing sales, so I'd watch this over the next few days leading up to Black Friday
Lip Balm: under $10; this Mint Rose balm is my absolute favorite; I've been using it for probably 10 years now and always have a jar on my bedside table and a tube in my bag so I'm not using germy fingers when out and about; would make a perfect stocking stuffer or teacher gift paired with some nice hand lotion and a candle
Lip Gloss: I actually wore this lip gloss at my wedding in the "Giza" shade; it can be worn as a gloss alone, but I love it most layered over lipstick, particularly red lipstick
Southern Appetizers: under $15; I came across this book in a Norfolk boutique and added it to my wish list; it is filled with recipes for favorite Southern appetizers, but the recipes are divided into sections focused on a party theme so the book does double duty as a cookbook and party guide
Cashmere Throw: comes in 10 colors!; perfect for the friend who has everything; more of a splurge, but 40% off with code TOGETHER
Mocassin Slippers: I've had these (in the color pictured) now for 6 years and absolutely love them; come in 7 colors and an animal print here; come so cozy, water resistant and have a rubber sole so they can be worn outside; I often slip them on when I'm headed to the barre studio at 0 dark 30 to teach 6:00 am class; run large, order one full size down; also love this more affordable monogrammed version (just over $25 with code NOVEMBER 40)
Nail Polish: this shade "No More Film" might be my very favorite nail polish; it's almost black, but has a subtle navy/purple tint to it; I always get compliments on it; perfect as a stocking stuffer or bundled with other beauty gifts
Tan Towels: another great beauty stocking stuffer; my favorite way to get a faux glow; perfect for your friend who dreams of tropical places during the cold, pale winter months
Champagne Key Ring: this "Press for Champagne" key ring is too cute and again, would be a great stocking stuffer; I also think it could be a fun white elephant gift; attach it to a bow tied around a bottle of your favorite bubbly!; 10% off with code SHOPSMALL10
Cashmere Tech Gloves: for your friend who's always gramming, texting, emailing - ensure her fingers stay toasty all winter; come in 9 colors; 50% off TODAY 11/20 (putting them under $30) with code GOLDENDEAL
Keepsake Cutting Board: what a keepsake!; submit an image of an heirloom family recipe and have it engraved on this board; would be perfect for a newlywed; order by December 8 for Christmas guarantee; 15% off (making it under $150) with code SHOPSMALL15
Pearl Cluster Earrings: these were actually my wedding earrings! - see here; I've gotten asked for a source a few times, so knew y'all would love them; what's great is they look equally cute dressed down as they do up, and I love wearing them on special occasions (like my 30th birthday party this past weekend); 40% off (putting them just over $40) with code TOGETHER
Y'all Socks: just $15; perfect for the friend you can have yoga pant wine nights with; socks make the perfect stocking stuffer, too; 10% off with code SHOPSMALL10
Oyster Dish: I received this oyster dish as a wedding present and it is a stunner; it can be used for entertaining or would be equally useful on a nightstand for jewelry; aluminum so it never tarnishes; I also have the medium and the small can nest inside the corner which is great for serving dips with raw veggies, etc
Garden Stool: I have one of these in our dining room and am thinking of getting it a mate; makes a great little side table, too; if you're local check out Three Swallows in Norfolk to get one, and other blue and white finds, for a steal!
Crossover Cuff: I've had this cuff for 3 or 4 years now and love it; it is delicate and elegant and can also be stacked with other bracelets; also comes in rose gold here
Pajamas: on sale for under $50; pajamas are one of my favorite gifts to receive; love the colors and "sweet dreams" detail on these; I don't have them, but have found other J. Crew pajamas to run true to size
Perfume Roller: just $30; this is my favorite perfume that I've been wearing now for probably 5 years; the roller is great for travel and I always keep it in my purse; nothing like some perfume and red lipstick for a boost; awesome stocking stuffer
Pink Velvet Pumps: vavavoom!; perfect for the glam girl who has everything; pink - check; velvet - check; pearls - check
