So Tell Me What You Want, What You Really Really Want...

TGIF my friends!

So glad that the weekend is here--it was quite the week.  My "cold" actually is a sinus infection and I stayed home from school yesterday and went to the doctor.  I'm glad to be on antibiotics.

This weekend Bryce and I are headed to Charlottesville for Homecoming.  I'm disappointed that I'll be sick for it, but we'll just take it easy and have more of a low key weekend.

I can't believe that my time as an undergraduate at UVA went by so quickly.  Below is a picture of my first football game as a UVA student!

Now onto today's post--can anyone guess what song I'm quoting from?

It's the Spice Girls "Wannabe!"  I was a huge fan of the Spice Girls back in the day and went to one of their concerts with my dad in the 3rd grade--how fun!

I'm quoting the Spice Girls because today I am looking for your input--I want to know what YOU, my readers want from Sundresses and Smiles during the next few months.

I've made the decision to cut my blogging down for a while, at least until I finish Student Teaching.  As much as I love it, it is just one more thing on my to-do list each night and what I really need to focus on now is my health (i.e. getting enough sleep at night) and finishing my Masters.

I am leaning towards posting twice a week:  Mondays and Wednesdays and am open to continuing to have guest posts (let me know if you'd be interested by emailing:  sundressesandsmiles@gmail.com).

That being said--what would you like to see in those 2 posts a week?  I try to post on a lot of topics on this blog ranging from fashion to world issues.  What are your favorite posts?  I still will be using my own discretion at times, because, I think the fact that I do post on "serious matters" from time to time keeps the blog grounded.  But overall, I want to find a happy medium that pleases all of you!

Please reply letting me know what ya think.

And, OF COURSE, have a fabulous, great, wonderful weekend!

  4. Your blog is such fun the way it is.
Don't worry about heavy stuff, just post about what you and Bryce and other friends do and give us a recipe now and then some of your fashion finds. Don't change too much.
Feel better and have fun at Homecoming!!! Wahoo Wah

  5. So sorry to hear you're sick! Taking care of yourself is the most important thing...one that I've had to realize lately as well. I've been lacking on sleep due to blogging too, and I'm also having to cut back on posts. I love your posts about your every day life...what's happening with teaching, you and Bryce, recipes, etc...And of course I always love hearing about your new purchases as well! Hope you feel better soon!

  6. I LOVE(D) THE SPICE GIRLS! I was so obsessed with them "back in the day" and I loved the Spice World movie so much. I was Ginger Spice for Halloween one year, even! Thanks for the jam :)

  9. It's pretty hard to teach, go to school, and blog all at once! I used to teach, and I've discovered that having an office job makes blogging way easier! (But there is nothing in this world better than teaching; it's just not easy). Looking forward to your two posts a week!

  11. Its hard to juggle it all and I too will be cutting back when I move and start settling in. You can't do it all, right? I think 2 quality posts is way better than 5 sparse posts....and you always deliver something great so just keep doing what you are doing, updating us on your daily life, great finds, fashion tips,etc......you are doing a superb job!
I used to blog 6-7 days a week now its down to 3-4 which is reasonable but even then it can be challenging at times. We do the best we can and thats all we can ask. Mon and Wed. sound perfect, weekends tend to be quite slow in the blogging world compared to the start of the week anyway...

  12. Blogging shouldn't be a chore. It should be something you want to do...completely think your decision is the right one :) Have a great time this weekend!

  13. It is hard to get it all day. I like you for being you. I struggle with the same thing because my blog is so eclectic. Some people like my travel posts whereas other like my parenting posts.....some days I don't if I'm coming or going. I've been doing three days a week, but at times that seems to be too much.

I can understand wanting to cut back while you are finishing the student teaching. Just pop in with updates or whatever is on your mind.
