Sick Day Essentials

Happy Monday readers!

Good weekend?

Mine was okay...we had lots of fun activities planned, but unfortunately the kindergarten germs got me already! A cold came on Friday night.  We had plans both Friday night and Saturday, which didn't allow me the time to rest I needed. That being said, the cold really took away from the fun of the weekend and put me on the couch pretty much all day yesterday.

I modeled and gave lessons on both hand washing and nose blowing last week, but clearly the kids still need a little practice...

Those of you that have taught before, know taking a sick day is really tough.  When the fact that it is just the 5th day of kindergarten is added to the equation, taking the day is pretty much impossible, so I'm toughing it out. Here's what I'd really like to be doing though:

  2. Oh no!! I'm so sorry you are sick! That is no fun. We watched "The Other Woman" Saturday night - it was cute. T came home from preschool Tuesday and within ten minutes had put his finger in KC's mouth - so gross. My fingers are crossed she doesn't come down with anything! Feel better and I hope you can rest (which never seems possible those first few weeks of school).

  4. I stock up on Ginger Ale when I'm sick - swear it helps for some reason? That and the zero calorie Vitamin Water. How are you liking Big Little Lies? Hope you're back feeling better soon :)

  5. You should have included nose picking in that lesson haha! I deal with that a lot when I work with the little ones. I just watched The Other Woman the other day, and I loved it! Hope you're feeling better!


  6. Oh no! Hope you are feeling better. At least you got a fun movie out of it!

  7. You should start taking Echinacea! I like to get the liquid version and add it to juice or lemon water. It really builds your immune system up and makes you less likely to get a full blown cold!

  8. I used to be a teacher and found when I upped my Vitamin D intake I rarely got sick.

  9. Oh my! I'm sorry that you've gotten the flu this early in the school year. I hope you're doing better now. As for me, my sick day essentials would be a good book, chicken soup and my favorite comforter. Hahaha! I hope you're taking vitamin C to help boost up your immunity.
