#oddsareiam

Happy Thursday readers!

For some reason, these 4 day weeks always drag on for me?  I feel like it should already be Friday and am ready for the weekend!

Today I am sharing a fun new collaboration with you.

About a month ago, Catherine, from the blog Spring in My Step, reached out to me seeing if I'd be interested in doing a photo challenge with her.  I'd never participated in a collaboration like this before and thought it could be fun.  We knew we wanted to launch the challenge in the month of June and thought we could focus on summer.

Catherine, came up with a great idea, Odds are I am...

We thought that on all the odd days in June, readers could post photos to Instagram relating to summer.  If you don't follow along with us on Instagram, you can find me @alexandrabeeblog and her @cgspring.

At the end of the month, we'll do a link-up where bloggers can share their photos from the challenge and throughout the month we'll share some of our favorites people have posted.

I have posted some inspiration for you, below:

It's summer, #oddsareiam enjoying a gorgeous rivah sunset!

In June, #odssareiam dining al fresco with my honey!

In the summertime, #oddsareiam cornholing with friends!

In the summer, #oddsareiam donning a girlie bikini and cateyes!

We hope you'll play along!

The first odd day in June, is this Sunday, June 1st!  Be sure to hashtag #oddsareiam so we can see your pics!

Have a great day!

Shore Weekend

Happy Tuesday readers!

Did y'all have a nice Memorial Day weekend?  Ours was spent with both family and good friends and was lots of fun.

A few weekends ago we traveled to the Eastern Shore of Virginia for Bryce's cousin's wedding.  It was a really fun weekend and the wedding was absolutely gorgeous so I am excited to share it with you today.

The wedding was in Cape Charles and we got in on Friday night for the rehearsal dinner.  I did not snap any pictures at this, but it was a lovely evening with really good food--there was a buffet featuring some of my favorites including macaroni and cheese, scallops, and grilled veggies.  Also worth mentioning is that the bride had her mother's wedding dress from the '70s altered into a short little number and wore that to the rehearsal dinner!  After that we headed to Bryce's hunt club, where we were staying.  I was so excited to get the chance to see the club I'd heard so much about.

The decor was everything you'd expect out of a man's hunt club.

On the wall, that is a whale rib that was found on the nearby Barrier Islands!

The most fabulous porch.

Saturday morning started off with time on the dock, taking in the beauty of the marsh.

I could get used to this "backyard."

Next Bryce took me to the classic Exmore Diner for breakfast.  It did not disappoint.

this milkshake really hit the spot!

For the next several hours we rode around the shore, exploring the little towns and shops.  One of our first stops was the Blue Crow Antique Mall, one of Bryce's favorite spots to find oyster plates.

The Blue Crow

All the decoys made it evident we were on the shore!

I though this birdcage would be very cool spray painted a bright color!

I also was a big fan of this lobster mold.

We didn't find an oyster plate, but this cute elephant vase did come home with me!

Our next stop was the charming small town of Onancock.

One of our favorite spots was Market Street Antiques.  They had a huge selection of architectural salvage that was very cool.

We also really enjoyed stopping in the North Street Market, which had a selection of gourmet foods, beer, wine, gelato, and cigars.

We made our way back to the Hunt Club and Bryce made me a cheese plate to munch on while I got ready.

On our way to the wedding we drove through horrible storms and crossed our fingers that the sky would clear in time for Meredith's and Chase's big day.  The wedding was at the home of Bryce's aunt and uncle and was absolutely gorgeous.

His aunt's gardens were spectacular!

The rain soaked the chairs, so the ceremony was standing room only, but still perfect.

As the ceremony came to an end, we heard thunder.  Another storm was coming through; everyone quickly made their way to the tent!

The cocktail hour was full of yummy food, including a sushi station, fruit and cheese station, and my favorite, an oyster and clam tent!

Decor inside the tent was picture perfect.  It really was a fairytale wedding.

All the arbors were handmade for the occasion.

The tablescapes were exquisite!

And the cake was a work of art!

There was also, of course, dinner, dancing, and speeches!

"Elle est a vous!"

And finally, the cutting of the cake!

The cake was Bohemian Strawberry Blush with Buttercream Icing and was scrumptious!

The next day we slept in and chilled on the dock before hitting the road!

We made two pitstops on the way home.  The first was at the cutest nursery, called Appleseed.

The next and final stop was in Norfolk, at the French Bakery & Delicatessen where we had lunch!

All in all, it was a fabulous weekend and I can't wait for our next visit to the shore!

Have you ever been to the Eastern Shore?

What weddings have you been to so far this year?

Have a great day!
