Joe's Provocateur

Today, I wanted to share something with all of my petite readers.  I am only 5'3 and always hate that when I buy a brand new pair of jeans I have to get them altered.  They make designer jeans SO long!

Well, back in December, I visited my best friend ARS in Charlotte and was lucky enough to snag a pair of Joe's Provocateurs at the Saks Off Fifth outlet.  I have always loved the comfort of Joe's Jeans, so I was thrilled to find the Provocateur which is designed specifically for petite women.  I was able to wear them the day I bought them, no alterations necessary!  Another thing I really liked about them was that they were still cut to accommodate my curves.  Oftentimes petite pants, though, the right length are cut differently in the body and are not flattering on me.  These, however, fit like a glove and are by far the most comfortable pair of jeans I own!  I definitely recommend these to any of my followers that may be on the shorter side!

Joe's Provocateur

What are your favorite jeans?  Do you know of any other brands that have designed a petite pair?

As a side note, I'd like to thank City Boy at Life Through Preppy Glasses for the Stylish Blogger Award.  When I started blogging just two weeks ago, I had no idea if anyone would even want to read my blog, so being awarded and encouraged by other bloggers has meant so much to me.  I received this award last week, so to see my responses and who I nominated, click here!

  2. Hi Allie! Love your blog! I'm adding you to my Google Reader so I can keep up with your posts. Thanks for stopping by my blog and saying hi.

I'm petite too and I hate having to get everything altered. I've never heard of the Provocateur brand, but I'm definitely going to check them out. I have a couple pairs of Joe's Jeans and love them. Thanks for this fabulous shopping tip!

  4. I am roughly 5'5" on a good day. I love Lucky jeans. Their 'short' length is perfect on me when I where flats and anything will a low heel. Their 'regular' length if perfect for boots and heels. Definitely go in store to try them on because their jeans are handmade so the length can vary from jean to jean. And, they are so comfortable! They have a cut for every body shape.

    Happy Tuesday!

  5. I love the Provocateur! Citizen and Hudson also make good petite jeans, but I have found that the Hudson's can be kind of low-rise which I hate! Also, J Brand makes all of their jeans in different inseam lengths which can be short for those of us who are shorter. And I totally agree with how most petite sized pants are cut differently, especially J Crew and Banana Republic!

  6. Great tip~ I know Ann Taylor has a great petite section as well (although I guess they don't really have designer jeans!)

  7. Congrats on your blog award and thank your for leaving a comment with me yesterday.

Aren't jeans a tough category? No matter what shape or size we are, it is hard to find a perfect pair.

  10. Love love the provocateur! I'm only 5'1 so finding jeans is usually torture! Nordstrom's always has Joe's jeans and are very accommodating about doing any alterations as well.

  15. That is a great tip, I'm 5'6", but I'm pretty sure I have the *shortest* legs *ever*! Sounds like something worth checkin' up on! I totally hate shopping for jeans, so anything to hurry that process along is a lifesaver!

  17. How cute are you?! I'm pretty short at about 5'5" but usually just get my jeans hemmed :) Or buy skinny jeans for flats and use wide legs with heels! Love your adorable blog!

  18. I'm 5'3" and feel your pain! I'll have to check this guy out. in the meantime, I'm in love with jcrew's short jeans. I get them at the outlet, and they are the perfect length - no alterations needed.

I'm so loving the flared jeans trend now, but fear having to have them severely altered.

  19. OK, I definitely need to find these! I'm short and have such a hard time finding jeans and then hate having to take them to get altered.

  20. I am all about James jeans for petites and I do end up getting a lot hemmed but these Joes are super cute. At 5'2 I need all the help I can get!! I'm glad to know I have found a fellow petite! As for your masters at UVA, that is an awesome program and I'm so impressed that you have it all figured out. You will be so prepared for teaching and TFA will be lucky to have you if you decide to apply! We'll have to consult each other for advice in the classroom.

  22. Allie,

I read this the other day, and didn't have a chance to respond. Great information. I had on Joe's Jeans yesterday, and I so wish they were as comfortable as yours seem to be. I don't know the style, but I bought them from Nordtrom on a sale via the internet several years ago. They seem stiff. I did buy a pair of Jeans at Nordstrom Rack though, and they are not a high end brand (Called The Cut...retails for about $85), but I could live in those.
