Additionally, I'd like to thank What Miss Loves AND Sweet, Sassy, Southern and Classy for giving me the "Stylish Blogger Award." I could not be more flattered, especially considering how new I am to this blogging gig! The directions for the award are to: 1) Link back and thank the person who gave you the award 2) Share 7 random facts about yourself and 3) Award 5 other bloggers. Read below for my 7 facts and the 5 bloggers I am awarding.
- I have grown up in the house my grandparents built when they were first married
- I played volleyball all through middle and high school, but sadly don't have the time to commit to a team here at UVA
- I have such varied interests that it is often hard for me to make decisions. For example, I had a few meltdowns over trying to choose a major. I ultimately decided on psychology, but know I could have been just as happy in many different majors (art history, anthropology, commerce, etc)
- I am an only child, however, when I was 11 we took in my 3 younger cousins because my aunt and uncle passed away. Our family doubled over night. My dad jokingly calls my cousins our big inheritance.
- I hate cats (sorry to any followers or blog friends that own and love cats)
- I'm very forgiving, so much so that it sometimes results in my getting hurt.
- I want to be a teacher, and maybe a few other things in the career world, but more than anything I want to be a mom. I want two mischievous boys and a baby girl.
I award: The Southland Life, Shorely Chic, Living Life in Limbo, Soulshine, and Miss Southern Prep. I had a really tough time just picking 5-- so many of you have wonderful blogs!
Whew, this was a long one! If you've made it this far, please don't forget to share any good "A" costume ideas!
For the "A" costume....Hester Pryne-Scarlett letter....a big red A

ReplyDeleteP.S. My two favorites are the power ranger and the fourth of july! So cute, I think you should dress up as...ariel, astronaut, aphrodite, angelina jolie, aurora (sleeping beauty), annie from the musical annie, airline flight attendant, or ABBA. Hahaha that is all I could think of...hope that sparks some sort of idea or helps a little! :)
ReplyDeleteOooh, I am liking these ideas so far! Keep 'em coming!

ReplyDeleteAh...I know it is a bitter sweet time as your sister sorority time winds down! Have fun at this last themed blow out (what about going as Audrey Hepburn....you could be a very preppy Audrey) or what about an Apple Blossom...then you could wear something frothy, frilly in pinks and white???
ReplyDeleteThank for stopping by Southern Somedays...I am following you now!
The ANTH one is my favorite! Totally cute!
ReplyDelete"Not a huge wine person"!?
ReplyDeletePlease do not tell us that you would prefer "booze" or beer from a bottle, madam.
"A day without wine is like a day without sunshine."
Love the party idea of choosing a class! I wish I had more theme parties to go to now, as I adored dressing up for them in college. You could go as an American--super sparkly and patriotic, possibly with a copy of the constitution.
ReplyDeleteAnother "A" thought...what about Alice in Wonderland?
ReplyDeleteHi! I love your blog, super cute! And I love the owl costume!A fun A costume might be an alien? It might be pretty easy to do as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all these great ideas. And Anonymous, no I do not prefer beer! I prefer girlie mixed drinks, hehe. I have been gradually acquiring a taste for wine over the last year or so!
ReplyDeleteHi. I'm a stylist in LA and I'm totally obsessed with your blog. I'd love if you visited my new blog for multiple posts a day on all things fashion. I just moved to California after graduating back in south with a degree in visual merchandiser. In attempt to get my heel in the door, I've launched a site all about celebrity fashion and the trends that create it. Check out what Brad, Rachel Zoe's former associate shared with me and find out my latest trend report. I'd love the support. I'm following you, I hope you'll do the same. Thanks so much.

Airline stewardess, but a sexy one from the old days...more like "coffee, tea, and me"...did you see that movie with Leonardo Di Caprio where he posed as an airline pilot in the 70s.
Angel, and I can't think of anything else right now.
If only you could dress up like an antelope! Or an asparagus! Or Abe Lincoln. So many options :)

ReplyDeleteWhat about going as a city - Atlanta, Amsterdam, etc, or even a state? You could wear assorted sports gear from their teams or something!
How about an Apple iPod? You could make all the apps out of cardboard and wear black leggings and a black top. Might be cute and super easy!

ReplyDeleteI love the Red, White, and Booze theme--too funny! As for your A costume, what about Miss America, Ariel, or an amigo? Thank you so much for the tag! I'm swamped with work, so I'm hoping to post it on Friday, but if not, definitely Monday! Have a wonderful Thursday!

ReplyDeleteI thought of Alice in Wonderland and Ariel this morning, but now I see that has already been said.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love dressing up? My best idea was Audrey, but apparently that wasn't as creative as I thought! (c: Yeah, if you're feeling super sassy, you could always go as the girl from "Easy A"...hahaha...but really, I have no idea what you would dress your date up as...a gay guy??? I hope you've seen that movie or this comment will make absolutely no sense!
ReplyDeleteAw last function?! Mine's next month :( I'm a Pi Phi, I see you're an Alpha Phi!! Anyway, you asked how I embedded a TED video into my post. If you go to TED and look under the video screen it says embed video and there's a code. If you copy and paste it into the HTML version of your post, it should show up. Let me know if you have any more questions!
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative! Such great costumes...
ReplyDeleteI was an Alpha Phi too! Many years ago :) My best friends (who I talk about all the time on my blog) are sorority sisters. Enjoy your senior year!
Ahh and a fellow Aphi at that!! I was delta chapter. All of my costume ideas are centered around the phi part (i.e. Phi-line, Phi-fa soccer player, maPHIa, saPHIri... you get the idea). Good luck with the costume!
