Daddy's 52nd!

TGIF!!

Wow!  This student teacher is happy that it is Friday!  I've had a great week and couldn't be happier with my school and the teachers I will be working with throughout the semester, but I am POOPED!

This weekend will hopefully be relaxing and fun.  Tonight I am getting together with some girlfriends and tomorrow night Bryce and I are getting dinner with my parents so that he can meet them.  At some point too, we're also going to go to the pool because my tan is already fading from just one week spent inside!  Finally, I hope to also get some bloggy time in to see how all of YOUR lives are going and say hi to some of the new faces at Sundresses and Smiles.

Last weekend, as many of you all know my dad turned 52.  We all had brunch at Peking, a Chinese restaurant that is a Richmond favorite and a family tradition.  Later that day we had Daddy's favorite--German Chocolate Cake.

With his German Chocolate Cake
Funny tidbit:  When I was in Germany I looked all over to get him one of these cakes--it turns out their origin is not German, rather the man that first created the cake was Sam German!

In honor of his birthday, though, I wanted to say a few words about my dad.  For as long as I can remember, I have been a Daddy's Girl.  He has always called me his shadow and we share a bond that is really unique.

My dad is truly incredible--he has overcome a lot in his life and serves as a huge inspiration to me.  On top of that, he is just someone that is incredibly fun to be around.  We often joke that he is a "big kid" and he doesn't take life too seriously.

He also is one of the most caring people I know.  He bends over backwards for our family and I know that he is someone I can count on in every situation.

I truly could not have asked for a better father and friend and every day I feel proud of the man he is.

Have a great weekend!
