Today's post involves some exciting news. My cousin Lee is engaged and he and his fiancée are expecting a baby boy named Dylan at the end of the summer! I couldn't be more thrilled and even though I'm not technically the future aunt (I think it's cousin twice removed or something like that), I told Lee I will be called Aunt Allie!
Lee and I on his farm!
My mom and I decided to throw Lindsay, his fiancée, a shower at the end of July. Lee lives on a farm and is quite the country boy so I thought a John Deere theme would be appropriate.
When I first found out Lee was going to be a new Daddy I raced over to my favorite local baby store, Babystuff & Kids 2. I saw this and decided that if the baby turned out to be a boy, I would have to get this.
I've never planned a shower and it's been quite some time since my mom has, so we're both very excited. Here are some inspiration pictures!
Aren't these invitations cute?
We were thinking of getting a cake from Westhampton Pastry Shop.
Cupcakes could also be nice...
John Deere Cupcakes
I was thinking it would be cute to decorate with John Deere toys that the baby could then have.
I also would love to make a diaper cake (something I had never heard of before blogging)!
Hopefully I can channel some of this amazingness!
Anyone have tips or ideas for me?
Have a great day!
So cute! You MUST get on etsy and see what all you can find. It is my go-to for every shower and birthday party.
ReplyDeleteGirl - go you .... 300 followers in 3 months. That amazing! It's probably because your blog is as cute as you are (and that baby shower is!)

ReplyDeleteSo cute! Yes, diaper cakes are awesome! Also, I would say definitely go with a romper. I think they are adorable! And, can I tell you that I have thought multiple times that I wish I could fly you out (I'm in Oklahoma City) to be my babysitter!! Ha ha, if only I lived closer :).

ReplyDeleteGreat balloons!
Great idea - but if it's a baby shower for Lindsay - shouldn't the theme be something SHE loves? She may very well love John Deere too, but something to keep in mind. Baby showers are normally held to celebrate the mommy and her being a future mother.

ReplyDeleteWhen my neighbor was little, he had a mini John Deere tractor he would push behind his dad's real one while he cut the grass! Afterwards, he would get the hose out and wash his "tractor." I can still remember him scrubbing that plastic tractor with such care. Sooo adorable!!!
